“Viasna”, Ales Bialatski, founder of the Belarusian Centre for Human Rights, is the laureate of the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize.
Bialatski, 60, is currently in prison in Belarus. He is the founder of one of the most prominent Belarusian human rights organisations, Viasna (Spring). The organisation was set up in response to the harsh policies of dictator Alexander Lukashenko. The Lukashenko regime brutally represses protests.
